Team17 have unveil plans to release their first PlayStation 4 and Xbox One title, Worms Battlegrounds, carrying on the tradition of keeping the Worms franchise alive while giving us more and more excuses to throw holy hand grenades and explosive sheep at our friends once again.
The veteran independent British publisher is proud to see its award-winning franchise make its debut on the next generation of consoles, having seen it already appear on over twenty-five other platforms since its introduction back in 1995. Having their series hit so many consoles and devices is nothing short of incredible and with almost twenty years running, it’s great to see there is still some love for the cartoon action the game offers.
Worms Battlegrounds will be one of the first titles to be self-published on the Xbox One under the ID@Xbox program, of which Team17 is one of the ambassadors. Worms Battlegrounds is due for a 2014 release and will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, no doubt other formats will follow some time afterwards.
Thank you Team17 for providing us with this information.
