How Much Does it Cost?
The Tecware Q5 USB Gaming Headset is available now for just £61.27 with free shipping, making it fairly competitive overall. It’s a little under the price of the ASUS TUF Gaming H7, or even the Corsair Void, while still offering roughly the same sort of features and design as many of its main rivals.
Overview
I think it’s fair to say that Tecware hasn’t really innovated here or really done anything that makes this headset truly stand out from the crowd. However, that’s a tough thing to do when you’re only asking £60 for your headset and honestly, I don’t need innovation, I just want a well made headset for a modest price, and that’s what this is.
I mean it as high praise when I say that it’s on par with the quality from other brands such as Corsair, ASUS, Razer, Logitech, Creative and more. They all have similar looking and performing headsets in this price range, and Tecware can compete with them all easily enough.
The sound quality on the headset is solid, and the EQ feature is certainly welcome as it’s often missing in sub £100 headsets for some reason. The detachable microphone sound fantastic, and maybe even a little better than most in this price range too. Plus, I only use a gaming headset microphone once, maybe twice a month, so that suits me nicely; Just don’t lose it!
The headset looks good, but most importantly it feels really well put together, and I like all the material choices. I do like a detatchable cable, but at least it’s a quality braided design, and it has the in-line controller, which is certainly a welcome addition.
If you’re looking for a comfortable, well-made headset that’s great for music and gaming, the Tecware Q5 is a competitive option. The price is good, the build quality is excellent, and the plug and play design means you spend less time tinkering and more time gaming.
