Telltale Games And HBO To Create Games Based On Game of Thrones

Telltale Games and HBO Global Licensing have announced a partnership to create an interactive episodic game series based on the epic drama that is Game of Thrones. Now I’m already sceptical that they’ll make a mess of this one, Game of Thrones books and TV series are a fragile beast, it needs to be done right, or not at all. Fortunately, we have a little faith in Telltale after a few recent successes, but I still remain sceptical that they’ll pull this one off.

The multi-year, multi-title partnership between Telltale and HBO Global Licensing is targeted to premiere digitally in 2014 with an episodic game series for home consoles, PC/Mac, and mobile devices. Specific platform details are yet to be announced.

Based on the bestselling fantasy book series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin, Game of Thrones is an epic story where political and sexual intrigue abound as seven noble families fight for control of the Iron Throne and the Seven Kingdoms.
