Conclusion
The Tenda D301 Wireless N300 ADSL2+ Modem Router looks like most of such devices do. A simple off-white box with two antennas, but it is pretty slim in its body. The two antennas have 5dBi and the router supports MIMO for better bandwidth, range, and coverage. It only supports the 2.4GHz band and 300Mbps with the 802.1n connection, but that should be sufficient for browsing and streaming needs.
The wired RJ45 connectors are only 100Mbps but one of the four doubles as a WAN connection for direct router usage and one doubles for IPTV usage. It might not sound like much with 100Mbps ports, but if the router only is used for the internet connection that is provided through an ADSL connection, then it’s sufficient.
The user interface is very simple. It isn’t a pretty sight, but you’ll find all the features you’ll want from basic setup to security and filtering. You also get USB sharing thanks to the built-in USB 2.0 port and the router supports easy connections with WPS. .
Pros
- Modem and Wireless Router in one.
- IPTV support
- USB sharing
- WPS
- Simple but feature-rich UI
Cons
- 100Mbps RJ45 ports
- 2.4GHz 300Mbps WiFi
“The Tenda D301 ADSL2+ Modem Router is nothing special, but it’s a fair unit for what it is. It’s just kinda outdated by now.”
