Shenzen-based Tenda, provider of affordable networking solutions released their new PA6 Wi-Fi extender. The PA6 Wi-Fi uses homeplug AV2 technology with transfers up to 1000Mbps over existing power lines. It is an ideal easy to set up solution for home network users. The Tenda PA6 extender is also equipped with 802.11n connectivity (hence the Wi-Fi in the name). For proper wireless networking signal, there are two antennas built-in which can fold up or down. It also has a pair of Gigabit Ethernet ports for additional networking flexibility.
Setup is meant to be very easy for almost anyone. There are two buttons in front for the home networking option and the WiFi cloning so it acts like an extender. That is all that it requires from users; simply press when it is ready to use after plugging in. The size of the Tenda PA6 is barely larger than most power adapters used on hardware devices, so it is not distracting. It is available in white so it almost blends in the backgruond when plugged in the living room.
The Tenda PA6 Powerline Extender is available for only $39.99 USD. It is not listed yet in stores at the time of writing this article. Although it should show up in major retailers such as NewEgg.com or Amazon.com within the next few weeks.
