By using the W150M out and about in a way that it was really designed to be used, I can only but appreciate how useful it is and how much more I am able to do with it rather than sharing out an internet connection from my laptop to my other devices through Intel’s MiFi utility. Being so small and compact, the W150M easily fits in amongst the heap of other gear that I have to take with me to events and thus would be just as suitable for anyone that wants something convenient that will pop into a laptop bag or rucksack with ease.
Having all the functionality of a normal router is also important, when away for days on end – like when I was at Computex 2013in Taiwan and Germany earlier in the year, our internet connection was based on a static IP and thus the unit needed the specific connection settings applied to it in order to work. It would have been nice to have seen a Gigabit Ethernet port on the back instead of a 10/100 port, especially as it is as inexpensive these days as its predecessor.
The most remarkable thing about the W150M though as you may have guessed on the previous page has got to be the wireless signal. For a tiny unit of this size, I am speechless as to how far it is able to broadcast, let alone be usable. Previously in the same location I have used the MiFi on my laptop as mentioned to share our our internet connection and the range has been like any other router but this tiny little unit packs a signal so strong, you really have to get one and use it to believe it.
Priced at just under £20, this is a clear must buy option, there’s been a few products this year that I’ve found useful, but this one is close to topping the lot. If you’re a business or even a leisure person that wants a small, cheap portable router to take from place to place for wireless networking and internet connection sharing, save the hassle of MiFi networks and just get this in your bag now.

eTeknix says: Tenda’s W150M portable router is simply put one outstanding little product – I’ve had some routers pack a good wireless signal, but for this little unit to reach down to ground level outside from floor floors up is remarkable, making it totally worth the cost.
