The user interface looks very simple and it is just as simple to use as it looks. The router has a static IP set to begin with and your Installation Guide will tell you both that and the default user and password. Conviently you can already see the firmware function before you even log in.
Once logged in, you’ll be presented with the Easy setup process for your internet connection. It works with Dynamic and PPPOE setups. You can also define both wireless passwords here, or you hit the advanced button at the top right to go to the full view of settings.
Pressing the Advanced button will take you to the normal interface with access to all the functions. On the top you got your main menu with various panes, to the left you got the sub-menus, and to the right it will display helpful hints on the page you currently have open, helping you to set just the right settings.
Status
The first pane is the Status pane and there isn’t much surprise in what we find under this topic. Information on our LAN, WAN, and Wireless setup.
Quick Setup
The Quick Setup allows you to go back to the more simple setup we saw when we logged in. You might have switched to the advanced tab and wanting to go back again, without having to log out and back in again.
Network
The Network pane allows you to set all the network specific basic settings such as IP address, subnet mask, and DHCP settings. You can also clone the MAC address here.
Wireless
The Wireless setup is probably the most interesting part, or rather the one you’ll want to visit and adjust to your needs. You can select the band you want to configure through the combo box and set everything from channel, mode, name, and country here.
Guest networking is a useful feature and it allows you to share your internet and network with people that you don’t want to share your more permanent passwords and connection with.
Specify specific devices that are allowed or denied access by MAC address.
Easy setup and pairing with WPS is also supported.
