TerraMaster D2 Thunderbolt 3 2-Bay DAS Review

The Packaging
When it comes to the package, there never are many surprises when we’re dealing with TerraMaster products. The large blue box with the logo gives away what it is.
The only distinctive difference between the various boxes is the sticker which tells us what is inside. In this case we get the TerraMaster D2 Thunderbolt 3 as a diskless device.
Everything is packed neatly inside with both the device and accessories well protected.
Besides the DAS, there’s a long list of accessories which you get too. There’s a quickstart guide which is more of a link to a guide. Then there’s also the warranty guide as well as a series of tray stickers. With them, you can label the caddies or drives and always know what is on which.
You get a full set of screws for both 2.5″ and 3.5″ drives as well as the screwdriver to insert them. The tiny screwdriver and reset-pin are used to set the RAID mode of the device.
You also get a Thunderbolt 3 cable with the unit. After all, you need to connect it to your system somehow.
You also need some power for the unit and installed drives. The included power adapter delivers up to 40W which is plenty for a 2-bay device. Mine came with both a UK and an EU plug, but that will vary depending on which region you purchased it in.
