The Tesla Electric Lorry is Practically Confirmed as Image Emerges

Images emerge of the new potential design
Electric cars are going to be a major player in the future of the industry. The simple fact that driving around these days, I am regularly seeing Tesla cars. Admittedly, still a little unusual, but it’s more uncommon than unusual to see one on the roads.
While they might be falling behind (quite significantly) on the production of the Model 3, they are a fashionable car brand.
Elon Musk, the director of Tesla, spoke earlier this year about the possibility of a fully electric lorry. This at the time was quite a bold statement. It certainly wasn’t necessarily the direction we were expecting from the company.
In the announcement, Elon Musk was quite positive about the development. Saying that designs were going well and it was going to be a market ‘game changer’. One of the bolder declarations was that the lorry would be released before the end of 2017. Currently, in October, that still isn’t impossible, but yet, seemingly unlikely.
A recent image has emerged from the Tesla plant that may indeed confirm that the lorry is further along in development than we thought. Therefore the 2017 release date might not have been all hyperbole.
Exhibit A – Practical Confirmation
The above image, via NextPowerUp, clearly shows a lorry. It has 6 wheels and an apparent attachable rear base. Given the sleek design as well, this looks like something Tesla would produce.
We reported a short while ago how a bus, developed by ProTerra, had just broken the electric vehicle range record. Given that Elon Musk has said that their development will ‘break boundaries’ one does have to wonder just what it’s specifications will be.
Clearly, trucks and busses have advantages over cars. Namely that their size can easily equip larger batteries which means longer ranges.
You only have to take a short drive down a motorway or interstate to see how electric trucks could change everything. Not just in the efficiency, but also the environment.
Considering Tesla’s reputation and ambition, I wouldn’t be surprised if this lorry does exceed all expectations.
