Performance

The Thyrsus features an 8200 DPI laser sensor, and while many laser sensors, even high-end ones, often suffer from jitter at higher DPI, that’s really not the case here. The sensor is silky smooth right across the range, and that’s going to be a great benefit for anyone who takes their gaming seriously. There was a tiny bit of acceleration at the top end of the range, but it was small enough that it took several tests to even consider that it was there, and you’re unlikely to notice at such extreme tracking speeds.

The RGB lighting is fairly subtle, just lighting up the mouse wheel and the Tesoro head logo at the back of the mouse, but a nice bit of extra flair regardless.

The firm rubber grip coating on the top is really nice for getting a good hold on the mouse, but it also gives you two non-slip mouse buttons that are great for firing off rapid clicks, and we all know MMOs can be demanding on click rates!

The mouse already tracks perfectly smooth, so accuracy really isn’t a problem here, and with a light and nimble glide, it’s fairly effortless to use too, which means less fatigue after those marathon gaming sessions.

The powerful macro engine, combined with the ten programmable buttons works a treat too. Sure, not everyone needs this many side buttons, but if you need all your macros for casting spells, buffs, and more, just one click away, this is certainly a great way to do it.

The software is nice and simple, with just two main tabs for configuring the mouse, and five easily accessible profiles that can be uploaded to the mouse’s onboard memory, making it tournament friendly.

Buttons can be easily remapped via the drop down, and you’ll also find access to more commands using the macro recording feature.

Advanced settings give you easy access to the Macro engine, as well as more control over the sensor and button responses.

Overall, the Thyrsus is packing all the right features in all the right places, making it a versatile MMO gaming mouse.
