Performance

DSC_6800This is a high-end mechanical gaming keyboard and it certainly has the performance to match. The Kailh Red switches are super fast and light to the touch, which is great for firing through rapid keystrokes; this has a big advantage for those who type fast, as well as those who play key intensive games such as StarCraft II. The light keys have other benefits too, while they do offer speed, they also take a lot of the strain out of typing and your fingers will certainly feel a lot less worn out after a long days writing and a long evening of gaming.

The stock keyboard with the number pad is really nice to use and the addition of the three thumb keys adds a nice tactical advantage while gaming, great for a quick item changes or macro deployment. They’re also great for multimedia editing, as I can use them as a quick copy, paste and apply action button in Photoshop; of course you can use them for any shortcuts you want to, but these are just my preferences.

The Tesoro Numberpad is really the star of the show here, as you could literally buy it on its own and keep it in the corner of your desk for extra shortcut keys, app launchers, macros etc; very handy if you have something like a racing rig or flight sim setup that needs a few extra keys by your side. Locking it onto the keyboard converts it to a full size keyboard, or as I mentioned before you can put it on the left and set up all the keys as macro keys, the choice is yours and it’s really nice to have this level of flexibility.
