Those of you who were hoping to catch a glimpse of Nintendo’s new console, the NX, during this year’s Tokyo Game Show are in for a bit of a disappointment. According to an official list and a press release that was published a few days ago, Nintendo will not take part in this particular event, which shouldn’t come as too big of a surprise considering that the company doesn’t usually attend the TGS anyway. That being said, plenty of other big names such as Capcom, ALIENWARE, Intel, Square Enix, Sony Interactive Entertainment and 2K / Take-Two Interactive Japan will be a part of the general exhibition, which is definitely great news for gamers and tech enthusiasts.
Nintendo still plans to release the Nintendo NX in March 2017, and there’s a pretty good chance that this product will actually be announced during one of the company’s own direct livestreams. Some were hoping to see the NX at this year’s E3 event, but Nintendo decided to keep its focus on the new Zelda instead, which is being developed for both the Wii U and the NX. As for TGS 2016, it will take place in Makuhari Messe in Chiba City, Tokyo between September 15 and September 18.
