As if we didn’t know this already!
However, this goes just a little bit further than your standard Apple fan as a British man is planning to start camping in front of an Apple Store in London awaiting the new iPhone 5. Before you think you have missed an announcement of a launch date, there is still no official date. This does not seem to concern Rob Shoesmith, who has said the whole camping idea is more of an elaborate social experiment and marketing scheme.
Shoesmith has said he has no idea how long it will take, but Apple will eventually launch the highly anticipated phone. To add just another twist to this story Shoesmith did not bring any money with him. So yes, he can’t actually afford to buy an iPhone, or maybe more importantly pay for any food. This is where he is hoping sponsors and donations will come into play.
While we do wonder why anyone would donate cash to someone sleeping on the streets who’s only plan is to buy the latest iPhone it will certainly be interesting to see if his experiment does have any success. It certainly seems to be getting off to a good start.
You can check out Rob’s blog here or his twitter here, and if you can help out the poor Coventry bloke then feel free but just remember to tweet me at @giantsitel to let us know what you have offered and it might end up on the front page of eTeknix.com
