The Last of Us Part 1 Receives FSR 3 Support, But It’s Not Smooth Sailing

The Last of Us Part 1 has finally received official implementation of FSR 3 in its latest 1.1.3 update which includes frame generation, but unfortunately it seems this implementation leaves much to be desired.
FSR 3 In The Last of Us Part 1
Via wccftech, FSR 3 is now available in The Las of Us Part 1 but some users aren’t happy with its implementation. Creator of the benchmarking software CapFrameX made a tweet in response to the release stating “I’ve just tested it on the RTX 4090. 60fps + DLSS feels snappier than 120fps + FG. DLSS also offers the better image quality.“. Other’s also pointed out the game’s FSR 3 mod from LukeFZ was better than this official implementation and was more smooth. Some complaints lean towards FSR 3 reporting double the frame rate but the frame rate doesn’t feel doubled at all.
The issue was pointed out by YouTuber Ancient Gameplays and has blamed it on the 3.03 version of FSR 3 as the issue also exists on RoboCop which the modded version of FSR 3 apparently feels better as well. A quote from the video (Via WCCFtech) states:
“With this in mind, I can only think of, once again, the 3.03 version of FSR 3 presented by AMD being the issue. I don’t see any other chance since the modded version works well. The same goes for RoboCop, I go with the mod for RoboCop and the mod works perfectly. The game just performs as it should, really really smooth. As soon as we go with the official implementation, the game performs like crap.“
Other FSR 3 Games
