The Last of Us is widely considered by many to be one of the greatest video games ever made. Well, part 1 at least. – With it well known that a TV series adaptation of it had been in the works for some time, therefore, there was clearly rather a lot of hype and anticipation surrounding it. And, put simply, and rather bluntly, whether it could ever hope to stand up to the standards set by the original game.
Albeit, after the rather dismal affair that was Netflix’s ‘Resident Evil‘, however, (a series which, incidentally, was truly horrific for all the wrong reasons), at this point, I think most people would accept ‘The Last of Us’ as hopefully being at least passable.
Will ‘The Last of Us’ actually be any good though? Well, following the release of its first official trailer, you can have a look for yourself!
The trailer gives us our best look yet at what the TV adaptation of ‘The Last of Us’ might have in store. Overall though, with Joel and Ellie featured as the main characters, it doesn’t seem too much of a stretch to say that this will be a more fleshed-out version of the original gaming titles story. And that’s no complaint either as the story is what arguably made ‘The Last of Us’ so good.
The only downside, of course, is that presuming you’ve played the games, you probably already have a pretty solid idea as to what to expect from the TV series. – With it set to land at some point next year, however, so far I have to say that this is looking promising.
