The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria will be available on Steam and Xbox Series X|S starting August 27. For a limited time, players can grab the game at a discounted price of $19.99.
Developed by indie studio Free Range Games and published by North Beach Games, the game originally launched on the Epic Games Store for PC in October 2023 and later on PS5 in December. Now, it makes its way to Steam and Xbox, offering a broader audience the chance to explore Middle-earth’s depths.
The release will coincide with the Golden Update, introducing cross-play between all platforms and unveiling the new Sandbox mode. This mode, which was previously in beta, allows for diverse and unpredictable gameplay experiences through procedural generation. Each playthrough will vary in difficulty and layout, providing endless adventure possibilities.
Additionally, the update includes 14 new armor and weapon types, such as the Wolfskin Hat and Gondorian Shield. These items can be found in Sandbox mode and transferred to the main campaign if equipped.
The game features solo and online co-op modes, where players can mine resources, craft gear, and face hidden dangers in the deep.
