The Powerful Nvidia Titan X Now Available

Nvidia announced its brand new Pascal-based Titan X about two weeks ago, and it looks like the company finally made this beastly graphics card available to the general public, albeit for a rather overwhelming price tag. Based on a Pascal GP102 GPU that promises to deliver 11 TFLOPs of single-precision compute performance, this card will set you back no less than $1,200, and it can only be ordered via Nvidia’s official store at the time of writing. You should also know that it is currently out of stock, but that should come as no surprise considering its enormous performance. Even though it will definitely work fine in gaming, the card was designed mainly for single-precision compute applications.

However, since it will definitely be used for gaming by many of you, we’ll tell you that several gaming benchmarks indicate about 25 to 35 percent more performance when compared to the already-impressive GeForce GTX 1080, and that’s at 4K. The Pascal-based Titan X features 3,584 CUDA cores that can be clocked up to 1,530 MHz, as well as 12 GB of GDDR5X memory on a 384-bit bus clocked at 10 GHz. That adds up to 480 GB/s of bandwidth in total, which is definitely something to write home about. And since it was manufactured using 16nm technology, this Titan X comes with a TDP of 250W, which is the same as its Maxwell-based predecessor. However, considering how much more powerful it is, that’s a rather impressive feat as well.
