BIOSTAR hasn’t revealed many motherboards, in fact, this is the first and only one at the time of writing. However, it’s a good one, sporting a premium high-end gamer-focused design, and sporting their gaming series Valkyrie branding too. It looks great, maybe not as aesthetically over the top as the big ones from MSI, ASUS, and Gigabyte, but I suspect it won’t be as expensive as those either, which is no bad thing. It sports a very competitive 22 Phases with 105A Dr.Mos Power Design, so pushing some big boost clocks and pushing your systems limits should be easy for the Valkrie.
It’s future-proof for gaming too, with a pair of PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, as well as a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot for good measure. If you’re eager to go big on ultra-fast storage, you’ll find a pair of PCIe Gen 5.0 M.2 mounts, as well as two more Gen 4.0 M.2 mounts. So while this may not seem as “XTREME” as some of the other flagship models, it’s really not lacking in features at all.
There’s a lot of connectivity on offer here too, with an impressive 9 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, and a Gen 2×2 Type-C, giving you plenty of room for peripherals and external storage. There’s also the latest WiFi 6E, and 2.5G LAN for super-fast networking. Plus, Realtek® ALC1220 7.1 CH HD Audio Codec should ensure it sound great too!
