The ROG Crosshair X670E Gene is a very interesting motherboard. One, it’s microATX, my favourite form factor and one that’s quite rare these days. However, it only has ONE PCIe slot, like a microATX motherboard, but it has more M.2 slots… interesting! PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 ensure it’s still going to be a performance beast though. Its PCIe 5.0 x16 is ideal for your next-gen GPU. However, with its onboard slots and the ROG Gen-Z.2 card, the Gene offers two PCIe 5.0 M.2 slots and one PCIe 4.0 M.2 slot for some cool storage configurations. The CPU will benefit from the impressive 16+2 teamed power stages rated for 110A.
The Gene has impressive connectivity throughout, with WIFi 6E and Intel 2.5Gb Ethernet, a pair of USB4 ports, front-panel USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C and Quick Charge 4+.
