CD Projekt Red has announced that The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt has passed over 50 million players.
On the Witcher Twitter account it has been announced that the game has reached over 50 million players which is just 5 million less than the population of England. The Witcher is up there as one of the most popular games of all time with Geralt of Riviera becoming an iconic character in gaming leading to the game receiving a Netflix series in 2019 which fell apart once Henry Cavill decided to leave the show. Back in December, the game received a next-gen update which improved upon the graphics substantially but it came at the cost of performance and several game crashes, most of which have been fixed through several updates.
I still have yet to play The Witcher 3, I bought it a while ago and managed to get to the Castle after the first area but haven’t bothered playing since. One day I’ll bother playing onwards but I’ve said that about Skyrim which I have around the same amount of playtime on and still haven’t touched despite sinking many hours into ESO Online.
Congratulations to CDPR for this milestone.
