Thecus N5550 5-Bay NAS Review
Chris Hadley / 13 years ago
Unlike the other NAS boxes that we have seen of late, the N5550 comes in a very understated box with a sticker on the top and side with an image, model number and a brief overview of the features. Reading the top of the sticker, we note that the N5550 comes with an Intel Atom CPU, McAfee Antivirus, USB3.0, iSCSI, HDMI, and a copy of Acronis True Image Personal.
Paperwork and disk wise we get a quick installation guide, warranty card, a note mentioning that the end user should check the Thecus website for firmware updates and a complete HDD compatibility list, a copy of Twonky Media Server (64-bit), Acronis True Image Personal 2010, and another disk with manuals etc.
Alongside the paperwork, we find two packs of screws – one set for 3.5″ drives and the other for 2.5″ and each pack with a few spares and for keys for locking the drive trays into the NAS.
Finally, we get a blue CAT5e patch cable for connection to the network and a UK kettle lead.
