Today, they’ve revealed the launch of the Intel 1851 Delid-Die-Mate Heater V1. This innovative tool is designed to safely remove the heat spreader from Intel Core Ultra 200 CPUs using the Intel 1851 Delid-Die-Mate V1 delidding tool. Delidding a CPU can be a daunting task, so anything that makes the process easier is certainly welcome.
Delidding Intel’s latest processors, based on the Arrow Lake architecture, requires precise temperature control to mitigate the risk of damage to the multi-tile CPU die. The Intel 1851 Delid-Die-Mate Heater V1 heats the CPU and delidder to the optimal 165°C (330°F), softening the indium solder for a clean and safe separation.
This means you’ll be able to easily use direct contact with cooling solutions such as water blocks, which can greatly increase cooling capabilities and system performance.

I love the warning on their site to “Never heat the CPU in a microwave under any circumstances!”, as it implies to me that someone has tried that… my god, that would have been fun to watch, and a fast way to ruin a new CPU too. Check out the video below.
