Thermalright has launched an updated version of their popular True Spirit tower CPU cooler. The new True Spirit 140 BW Rev A has been improved on several areas over its predecessor, where the first is a height that has been decreased by 5mm. This was achieved by thinning the base a little bit as well as compacting the fin stack without reducing the amount.
The True Spirit 140 BW Rev A CPU cooler retains the matte-black top plate that covers the top of the fins, has six 6mm nickel-plated copper heat pipes, a nickel-plated copper base and can hold two 140mm fans. Thermalright has included a TY-142 fan that has a maximum noise generation of 21dBA.
The total setup with one fan measures 80 x 155 x 165 mm and weighs 770 grams and there is support for all modern CPU sockets ranging from AMD to Intel’s LGA2011v3 socket. It’s reasonable to assume that the new version will take over price-wise where the current old version is located: $55 area.
