Thermalright’s Macho family of CPU coolers has just received a new member, namely the 120 SBM, which basically represents a more compact version of the brand’s Macho 120 Rev. Measuring in at 130 x 101 x 150 mm, this relatively thin cooler was designed for Mini-ITX and Micro-ATX systems, and it definitely looks like it can get the job done nicely thanks to its rear-aligned heatsink and TY 127 PWM fan. The heatsink position is common among all Macho coolers, and it basically eliminates the possibility of collision with RAM-coolers. This is a very important trait in compact systems where every inch of space is valuable.
The heatsink is linked to five 6 mm heatpipes complemented by 30 aluminum cooling fins that ensure an impressive level of heat dissipation. It’s interesting to note that the fins boast low air resistance and were designed to favor low-rpm fans. Speaking of the fan, it operates at speeds between 300 and 1,300 rpm, and it ensures airflow values between 21.9 and 94.8 m³/h. These are clearly superior results when compared to the 120 mm fan installed on the Macho 120 Rev. A, for example. Priced at €42.99, the Thermalright Macho 120SBM CPU cooler is currently available for purchase.
