Thermalright has revealed their latest cooler, the TRUE Spirit 140 Direct, marking the latest version of their most popular tower air cooler. The latest edition of the True Spirit 140 features an improved base, with five 6mm nickel-played copper heat-pipes, which make direct contact with the CPU. It’s a cheaper way to doing it, but it works well enough and keeps the cost vs performance ratio nicely in check. The heat-pipes pass through the slim but fairly tall aluminium fin-stack, allowing enough surface area to mount a 140mm fan for high airflow at low RPM.
The tower part of the cooler is just 77mm thick, so while it is quite tall, it should stay nice and clear of any RAM modules or any other motherboard components for the matter. With a 4-pin PWM connector, the fan operates between 300-1300 RPM, with (up to) 125 m³/h of air at 15-21 dBA. The TRUE Spirit 140 will handle a TDP of up to 200W, and comes with support for all major socket types, including LGA2011v3, LGA115x, AM3+, and FM2+.
The TRUE Spirit 140 Direct CPU cooler is available now with an MSRP of 37.99€.
