Thermaltake AH T600 Snow Full Tower Case Review

How Much Does it Cost?
The Thermaltake AH T600 Open-Frame PC Case is available now on Amazon for just £249.98 for the black one and £269.99 for the white one. That is a lot of money, but honestly, I was expecting a higher price. Just in raw materials alone, this thing was never going to be cheap. It clocks in at 23KG of steel glass. Its box is enormous too, so the cost of shipping must eat a lot of profit here. That being said, at £250, it’s still likely to be the cheapest component in what I suspect would be a PC build costing many thousands.
Overview
I hate this PC case, I really do, and the reasons are many. Firstly, the size of it is just obnoxious. It’s like someone is playing a joke with the size of it. If I put it on my desk, it would break my desk and hang about 18 inches over the front edge. If I put it under my desk, my chair wouldn’t fit, and it would still stick out by 18 inches or so.
It’s heavy. Not just heavy, but awkwardly shaped too. There are no obvious handles, no obvious grip points. Moving this thing is to dance with death himself. Put a liquid-cooled rig in here and you could be hitting nearly 100KG… proceed with caution and don’t skip leg day.
The cable routing is fully exposed, there’s no PSU shroud, and even the CPU pin header had trouble fitting in the routing hole. There are no dust filters at all, it’s open-air, so that could be an issue me, but may not be for you.
Go Big or Go Home
OK, so it’s too big, too heavy, and it’s actually pretty ugly too. But, and this is a big BUT… it’s cool. I would never buy one, but I can see the purpose of it. For a kick-ass custom loop, RGB, look at this madness modded thing, it’s perfect. I can’t imagine I’ll ever see one of these under a desk. I can imagine that when the world opens up again and we hit up trade shows, there will be amazing modded AH T600 cases on display around the world at many brands booths.
It’s cool, it doesn’t have to make sense, it just is a big statement, and I’m fine with that. Just don’t get one for your kids new affordable Minecraft PC and you won’t have any issues.
Should I Buy One?
Are you planning to drop a few grand on extreme hardware, liquid cooling, and are you prepared to do an extremely complex cable routing job, then put your PC on a heavy-duty plinth and under a spotlight for the world to see? If yes, then you’ll love the AH T600. Other than that, if you have a HUGE amount of space around your desk and want an utterly impractical and bonkers PC case, the AH T600 is as impractical and bonkers as they come! I’m giving it our innovation award just for it being cool, but also being bigger and more affordable than some rival attempts at a similar design.
