Thermaltake ARGENT E700 Real Leather Gaming Chair Review

Usability

So usability then, this is where my problems start. To begin with, comfort, everyone in the office had the same reaction to sitting down, the cushioning is incredibly tough, it’s almost like there is none. It was very hard to find a comfortable position when sitting in any position other than perfectly straight up. But with that said, when I tried reclining the chair and putting my feet up, all of a sudden I was in a new world of comfort, I was no longer in a chair I was in a bed.

Whilst the reclining is certainly comfortable, I still have an issue with it. The car door handles work very well for what they are, they are much easier to reach than something that is on the bottom of the seat, making adjusting the chair more comfortable than other chairs. The issue comes when you lock the current reclined position, the handle then permanently sticks out, this could easily be bumped on something, potentially damaging it. It would also be easy for someone to walk past and press the handle back down, meaning you could unexpectedly launch forward from the force of the backrest returning to its natural position.

Another feature of this chair is the ever-popular 4D armrest. Whilst this does do its job of being an armrest, there was one particular issue with them, they are too easy to move; for many people, this may not be an issue, but for me personally, I’m not overly keen on just how little force it takes to move the armrest.

The headrest of this chair is of the type where it is pretty much in one fixed position, and for me, it was too far back to use comfortably; this is not an issue with this chair alone though, I find most chairs have this issue for me.

Something about the headrest that isn’t a subjective issue is how hard it is to adjust, the headrest only adjusts on one axis, it only has height adjustment. To adjust the headrest, I had to apply so much force that I was scared it was about to snap off. Between the headrest and the armrests, they could solve both of my issues with these parts by somehow taking some of the resistance from the headrest and transferring it to the armrests.
