Thermaltake Ceres 350 MX Mid-Tower Case Review

Thermaltake has an incredible range of PC cases. They’re certainly one of the most prolific brands out there, with a vast range of products for gamers, that includes gaming desks that you can mount a bike to (yes, really), incredible fans, gaming peripherals, coolers, power supplies, and so much more beyond. However, even if we just focus on their cases, they’ve got a pretty huge range of models to pick from right now, catering for all sizes and budgets, with cute and affordable mini-ITX and mATX cases, so their flagship full-towers for the enthusiasts out there. Today, I’ll be focusing on the Ceres 350 MX, a more modestly sized mid-tower case that should cater to those who don’t want to spend something too big, but still get a lot of the cool and unique features we see in the best cases Thermaltake has had to offer recently.

Ceres 350 MX Mid Tower

The Ceres 350 MX Mid Tower Chassis is an ATX case which comes with support for BTF motherboards, which means it has support for rear-mounted cable connectors, with motherboards from the ASUS BTF series, MSI PROJECT ZERO series and GIGABYTE PROJECT STEALTH series. However, traditional motherboard designs and cable routing are also supported if you don’t have one of these new motherboards.

Features

  • Supports the latest Hidden-Connector motherboards (ASUS BTF series, MSI PROJECT ZERO series and GIGABYTE PROJECT STEALTH series)
  • Includes two interchangeable front panels (tempered glass/metal mesh)
  • Two CT140 ARGB Sync PC Cooling Fans at the front and one CT140 PC Cooling Fan at the rear
  • RGB lighting can be controlled by motherboard software from ASUS, GIGABYTE, MSI, and ASRock
  • Up to five 140mm fans or seven 120mm fans can be installed in the chassis
  • One 360mm radiator can be placed at the front of the chassis
  • Compatible with a separately sold LCD panel kit with a 2.1″ circular LCD

Interchangeable Front Panels

It comes equipped with an interchangeable front panel too, and yes, both versions are included in the box, so while that does add to the cost, it certainly makes things interesting for those who want the aesthetics of a clear panel or a metal mesh airflow panel. Plus, with a pair of their superb CT140 ARGB Sync PC Cooling Fans in the front and a CT140 PC Cooling Fan at the rear, stock airflow is pretty robust.

Cooling Support

However, the case can support up to a 360mm radiator at the front and a 280mm radiator at the top, as well as various fan configurations, up to five 140mm fans or seven 120mm fans can be installed in the chassis, so you can easily accommodate your cooling hardware configuration of choice.

LCD Customisation

If you want to take things to the next level, there’s also an optional LCD panel kit with a 2.1″ circular LCD, and while that’s not a cheap optional extra, it’s freaking cool too, so I can see a lot of enthusiasts with a bit of spare cash to burn to invest in this one.

Hardware Support

Overall, the hardware support is robust for a mid-tower, as the case is relatively wide, so CPU cooler clearance is huge, and there’s enough length to support up to a 340mm GPU with a radiator in the front, or up to 370mm without a radiator in the front. The case will also support up to an ATX motherboard of a 12×13″ E-ATX motherboard.
