Thermaltake Commander C35 TG ARGB PC Case Review

Exterior

The chassis uses a mid-tower design, so it’s as you would expect; not too big and not too small. Down the left side, you’ll find a huge tempered glass side panel. It’s bright and clear, so you can really show off your build. However, it also has some blacked-out edges, which hides some of the frame and fittings to keep things looking nice and clean.

The right side panel is pretty standard, just a solid black panel. However, it looks neat and tidy and gets the job done. Both panels are mounted with thumbscrews though, making it quick and easy to access the chassis interior.

Front Panel

One of the most striking aspects of this chassis is the front panel. It has a huge air filter design, which is going to be hugely beneficial to cooling your system. Even more importantly, there’s not one, but two 200mm fans hiding behind there.

That’s obviously going to give you huge cooling potential. They’re also packing 5V ARGE lighting, bu we’ll see those in action in a little while.

Around the Back.

Here, you’ll find a 120/140mm fan mount at the top. There’s a 120mm fan pre-installed, although it’s not RGB like the front fans, just a black exhaust fan.

Below that, there are seven expansion slots in a horizontal layout, as you would expect from an ATX compatible chassis. They’re all metal, all reusable, and all ventilated too. If that’s not enough, you’ll also find two vertical expansion slots that could be used with a riser cable for vertical GPU mounting.

Finally, an ATX PSU mount located at the bottom, which is all pretty straight forward.

Dust Filters

Upon the top, you’ll find a huge magnetic dust filter, hiding a few fan mounts below it. Plus, you’ll get quite a bit of passive heat exhaust from this too, which is great.

I/O

At the front, a tidy looking I/O panel, offering up two USB ports, and some audio jacks. There are the usual power controls too. However, there’s a dedicated button for the RGB, allowing you to cycle through colours/effects without the use of an ARGB motherboard, or software.
