The Thermaltake Core P3 TG Pro is actually pretty good value for money. It is currently available on Scan.co.uk for just £169.99, and while that is a lot of money, this is a lot of PC case! Just in terms of material cost, there is a lot of steel and glass here. Not that PC cases are sold by weight, but still, you’re getting a lot of hardware for your investment. Plus, it’s just so unique, and with the updated design, the Pro takes a unique case to the next level.
I think it’s only fair to say one thing right out of the gate… I personally would not buy this case, it is just so at odds with everything I do when I build one of my own PCs that I just couldn’t live with it. I tuck my PC under my desk and typically like a build that’s rarely seen or heard. I also live in an area that for whatever reason suffers from a lot of dust. I also like a fairly silent and compact build too. So you can see how I want almost the complete opposite of the Thermaltake Core P3 TG Pro for my own PC.
This case is far too big for me, and I suspect, it’s far too big and heavy for most PC users. This is not your typical PC case. It’s made for modders and enthusiasts with little consideration for anything else. It’s pretty tricky to assemble too, and first-time builders may struggle… I’ve done many hundreds of builds and this case had me making mistakes during assembly. However, there’s a guide, but no rules with this one, you can really make it your own along the way, and that is pretty cool.
Again, I’ve said this a lot, but it really is a chonky-boi, and if you have a cheap desk, it’ll likely go right through it. It can be wall mounted too, but if you live in a cheaply built house, it’ll take the bloody wall down when you hang it. That being said, the build quality is robust. There are a lot of components here, but they’re all made from thick steel, and everything fits together firmly. If you want a case that isn’t going to buckle under the weight of a massive custom loop cooling setup, you’ll be very happy with the P3 Pro.
There’s nothing quite like the Core P3 Pro, it’s such a unique design that really stands out. If you want a humble and quiet PC case, this isn’t for you. If you want something that makes a statement in the room you place it in, then roll up your sleeves and get building in a Core P3 Pro. It’s a case that deserves to be taken to the max, as I saw in my review, a traditional gaming PC looks pretty understated compared to the case. Custom loop cooling, big radiators, and an open design are going to really shine here. The Core P3 was all ready pretty unique and innovative, but the Pro takes that idea and hones it, making it one of the most interesting big cases on the market today, even if it’s largely only going to appeal to a small part of the market.
