A Closer Look – Complete Chassis
I have to admit, just putting this thing together was a mini nightmare. It’s not that it’s hard, but it is very time consuming, just like some things from Ikea seem like a 5-minute job, and they become a whole afternoon of looking for screws. Anyway, with it built, it looks pretty spectacular and that tempered glass panel is going to frame your hardware nicely.
I’ve opted to mount it vertically on the feet, which screwed to the bottom and provide a nice stable base for this rather heavy chassis. Honestly, I’d be terrified to mount it on the wall, but if you’ve got the screws and a strong wall, it’ll be fine.
There’s a lot of room in there too, and obviously, airflow isn’t an issue as it’s basically open-air. However, the PCIe bracket that can mount the GPU on its side shows you just how deep the chassis is. It offers up room for multiple GPUs. However, only one PCIe riser cable is included and given they’re £70 each at retail, that’s not surprising.
I’ve pre-mounted the riser cable now, which should make installing the GPU easier once we have the motherboard in place.
Overall, it looks fantastic. I didn’t enjoy the building process, nor did I appreciate how heavy this damn thing is. However, I do enjoy the end result of the chassis, it would just be more fun for me if it came already built like this, ha!
Around the back, again there’s plenty of airflow for the radiator mounting. This side does look a bit boring though, although placing it near a wall would hide that anyway.
