Thermaltake CT120 ARGB Sync PC Fan Review

Build Quality

Thermaltake have built some really nice-looking fans here. However, just as importantly, they also feel really well made too. The plastic frame is incredibly tough and I cannot deliver any flex or deformation to it at all. Thermaltake say in their official blurb that “the new CT Series fan frames are crafted to be steady and robust so the fan won’t deform easily.” and well, I’m happy to say that is true.

There’s a newly designed exterior frame too, which allows for an even better fit for both case and radiator usage, with no more gaps for air to slip through, allowing the fans to do their job properly.

All four corners on both sides of the fans are fitted with round and permanent anti-vibration rubber pads, helping to prevent any unwanted sounds from being generated at higher RPM when they’re mounted into your case or onto a radiator.

The fans use a seven-blade design and are driven by a hydraulic bearing fan motor with a 40,000-hour life expectancy at 25c operating environment temperatures. That’s around 4.5 years at 24/7 usage and even then they’ll likely just need the motor lubricating again. All Thermaltake fans have a 2 years warranty too, although in my experience if there’s a problem it’s found on the first day you use a fan, I’ve never seen one die later in life.
