Thermaltake CT120 EX ARGB Sync Fans Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The value of these fans is pretty decent, with a triple pack of regular or reversed fans coming in at around £60 on Amazon. You can buy them as single fans too, so it should be pretty easy to buy a configuration that fits your requirements. Largely those, three forward and three backwards is likely all most will need for a decently sized mid-tower. Or even three forward and one reverse for the back of your case, so overall, it shouldn’t be too expensive.

Overview

Thermaltake has a strong reputation for quality cooling products, and I can certainly attest to that, given that I have reviewed many of their products over the many years I’ve been here. I’ve even switched to using their AIO coolers and their fans in my own PC builds, I really think they’re that good, that I’m putting my own time and money into using their products.

While the CT120 EX ARGB Sync fans aren’t their most premium or high-performance fans, which would be the ToughFan EX series, but they’re like £35 a fan, and while they’re what I use and they’re freaking awesome, they’re obviously prohibitively expensive. For around £60, getting three fans that have many of the premium features of their flagship fans, such as the magnetic connectors and daisy chaining, the CT120 EX ARGB Sync are pretty great value for money.

RGB is a strong focus here, and largely it’s the main reason why you would want these fans in a reverse variant. Why have the best ARGB fans if the blades are facing the metal parts of your case, leaving you looking at the rear of the motor and the support braces. With the reverse blades, you get to see the pretty side of the fan, but still get the airflow going the way you require it.

Forwards or reversed, these are nice fans, with a good operating range, allowing for 500 to 2000 RPM, so you’ll be able to get low noise and massive airflow as and when you need it. The fact that they can be daisy chained makes them super easy and clean to install too. Three fans on the front of your case, for example, with a single magnetic cable, it really doesn’t get much easier than that.
