How Much Does it Cost?

The Thermaltake CT140 ARGB fans come in packs of two on Amazon, and you can get the white ones for just £34.34 or the black ones for £35.83, and they both have the same features and specifications, as well as the same performance, so it’s just a colour preference really.

Overview

Thermaltake is being really competitive with these fans, and while they’re not their flagship models, that title still goes to the SWAFAN, they certainly have high-end performance. The only major improvements you’ll get from spending more money on your fans are more unique connection options, such as the magnetic cables of the SWAFAN, and more ARGB LED lights. The CT140 ARGB fans “only” have 9-LEDs each, which is enough, but colour junkies may want more complex configurations for cool visual effects, but that’s really a subjective thing.

The build quality on these fans is nothing short of excellent though, with durable housing, a strong fan blade design, and a hydraulic bearing motor that I’m sure will last for many years of service. The fans can operate between 500 and 1500 RPM too, so even at full speed, they’re remarkably quiet, especially at 50% speed, where they seem to be very happy to operate, offering a good mixture of silence and high airflow.

The lighting effects look great and run from their own 5V ARGB header that can be connected to your motherboard or a compatible hub. There are 9 LEDs in total and as I said, there are more expensive models with more lights, but from my own testing, 9 is plenty to throw some colour into your PC build. With both black and white models available, finding the ones that best suit your cooler or case couldn’t be easier. Furthermore, these are the upgraded stock fans you’ll now find in many new Thermaltake products, such as their Ceres 500 mid-tower.

Should I Buy Them?

The CT140 are available in a choice of black or white, and either 120mm or 140mm configurations, making them easy to adapt to your latest build. With good airflow and low noise, the CT140 fans are perfect for radiators, coolers, and case fans, and at around £35 for a pair of them, they’re very competitive priced for such premium performance!
