How Much Does it Cost?

The Thermaltake Level 20 RGB Ambidextrous Gaming Mouse is available right now from most major retailers. It’s just £64.88 on Amazon in the UK right now too. I wouldn’t say that was a bargain or expensive really, it feels like a pretty reasonable price to pay for this level of features and build quality. It’s about on par with similar products from Corsair, Razer, SteelSeries, etc. Plus, there simply aren’t that many ambidextrous mice on the market, so it’s good to see that being catered to.

Overview

I really like the new mouse from Thermaltake, although I must admit it’s likely not the mouse I would buy. I simply don’t “need” an ambidextrous mouse, but I do like the idea of having a few extra buttons on the side for macros and stuff. I’d maybe just want them all on the left side. I’ll admit, that’s a really subjective thing though, so I’m not going to mark down the mouse for my own needs, as it’s a perfectly good mouse all on its own.

Build Quality

Thermaltake really put a great mouse together here. The core components are exactly what you would want, with Omron switches that are rated for at least 50 million clicks, they’re unlikely to wear out before you upgrade to something new in a few years time. Then you have the fantastic PixArt sensor, which just like almost all modern sensors, is pretty fantastic. Seriously, you do have to look hard to find a bad one now, but this one is pretty great and works smoothly even at 16k DPI.

Aesthetics

The shell of the mouse uses premium looking and feeling materials, and it all feels firmly fitted together. IT looks good too, I like that textured look to the top plastics and the moulded grip on each side. The darker design does a great job of providing a strong contrast to the RGB lighting too. I’m not the biggest RGB nut, but I do like options, so being able to dial in my favourite shade of red and leaving it is perfect for me.

Should I Buy One?

There aren’t a lot of new ambidextrous mice released each year, and this is easily one of the better ones out there. There are some older models on the market that are popular, but this one has newer switches, a more modern and very competent sensor, and all the latest RGB bells and whistles. At this price, I really can’t find a fault with it, it’s a superb mouse for everything from your daily work and some serious gaming.
