Thermaltake Riing Duo 12 RGB Premium Edition Fan Kit Review

Installation and Performance

As you might have guessed, these fans are quite a significant step up from what you might usually expect to see. Fortunately, with Thermaltake providing you with a hub control and plenty of software control options, you’re going to have no difficulty setting your brand new Riing Duo fans up.

Functionality

The only mild downside to how these fans operate is that you are not provided with a more standard SATA power adaptor to hook up the RGB lighting. While having a Molex option is a nice addition, I think many would agree that this technology is on the way out. That being said, however, to truly get the best out of this fan kit, you are ideally going to want to have an ARGB compatible motherboard.

Once connected to your system, however, you will be amazed at just how fantastic these look. Don’t forget though, these come with an amazing array of control features that take functionality to a whole new level!

Thermaltake RGB Plus

Designed to work with Thermaltake’s RGB Plus software, you can configure your Riing Duo fan kit to run and operate in sync with all of your compatible RGB hardware.

Offering amazing levels of control (down to the individual LED) this software will ensure that you can get your RGB set up exactly how you want it!

Amazon Alexa!

Through the use of your Amazon Alexa smart devide, control of the lighting effects for your Thermaltake Riing Duo fans can literally come from the tip of your tongue. If you really want to impress your friends, use this feature!

“Talking to TT RGB PLUS App is an easier, faster way to set lights for your systems. You can ask it to turn the lights on or off, switch lights modes, dim the lights, change light colors, or adjust lights speeds or fan speeds.”

Thermaltake Riing Duo 12 Fans In Action

So, as part of our review, we set up the fans in what we could call a ‘real-world’ scenario and set the camera to record. As you can see below, the lighting effects look absolutely amazing and (thanks to the help of a little vape smoke) you can see just how well these really move the air.

It should, of course, not go without mention that despite all the aesthetics, these are still system fans and are designed to move air in a firm and controlled manner through your system. As you can see in our little ‘test’, however, not only do they look great, but they provide excellent performance too!
