Thermaltake S300 TG Snow Edition Case Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The price seems to be under some competition at the moment. With the MSRP sitting around £90, which I think is absolutely fantastic value. However, I have seen some limited stock going for around £75, but don’t expect that’ll last long. Either way, if you pay £90 or less, I think it’s amazing value for money.

Overview

There’s no shortage of fantastic PC cases these days, and even at under £100, you’re spoilt for choice of legitimately premium products with amazing features. It’s fortunate for Thermaltake then that they’ve every bit as competitive as they can be. The Thermaltake S300 TG is a fantastic looking PC case, and while I haven’t laid hands on the black one, I can already tell you I love the Snow Edition even more. The crisp clean white finish looks amazing, and the black hardware contrasts really well too.

Build Quality

It’s as robust as you could hope for. Actually, I think the front panel is more robust than it needs to be! That thing weighs a lot, which was quite surprising. Then again, when you carve a case out of thick steel, that’s what you get, weight. Of course, tempered glass, reusable and modular fittings, it’s all premium throughout, so a big thumbs up there.

Keep it Cool

While the case is built for impressive cooling hardware, it doesn’t really come with any. That is no small factor in the affordable price either. There’s a single exhaust fan and that’s it. Of course, if you’re like me, you have a bank of Noctua fans your plan to reuse, or you have your AIO, or your custom loop ready to install. For some, no stock fans is a blessing, as it’s less to remove and throw away/give away. Just keep that in mind though, you need something mounted in the front to move the air.

Should I Buy One?

For under £100, you’re not going to find much bigger and bolder than the S300 TG Snow Edition. It’s a stunning look case, packed with great features, superb build quality and that’s that. Although, if you prefer the black one, that may work out a few quid cheaper too, so it’s up to you which to pick!
