Thermaltake Smart BX1 RGB 550w Power Supply Review

Ripple
When it comes to less expensive power supplies, the ripple testing can often uncover more than a few gremlins hiding beneath the surface. With the Thermaltake Smart BX1 RGB 5500W, however, that is clearly not the case.
Admittedly, the 12V results do get a little excitable as the load increases. This may, actually, explain the somewhat higher than usual voltage regulation results. On the whole, however, the results are still hugely within allowable limits.
In addition, it shouldn’t be overlooked just how excellent the results for both the 3.3V and 5V ripple testing were.
Load (%) | 3.3V Ripple | 5V Ripple | 12V Ripple |
20 | 3.8 | 7.8 | 15.4 |
40 | 5.6 | 10.8 | 18.6 |
60 | 6 | 11.4 | 22.2 |
80 | 7.6 | 11.8 | 26.2 |
100 | 6 | 13.2 | 32.4 |
