Thermaltake Smart RGB 600W Power Supply Review

Efficiency
Given that this is a standard 80PLUS power supply, there are very few requirements that this has to reach in terms of efficiency. Put simply, as long as it doesn’t drop below 80% at all rating levels, it ticks the box!
With the results below, however, I’m not entirely certain why Thermaltake didn’t try and get the bronze efficiency rating. By our results it’s more than good enough to achieve them. Admittedly, it’s a fine line, but despite what the packaging may declare, we here at eTeknix would at least be happy saying that this performs well above the rated level.
PFC (Power Factor Correction)
Given that this is a relatively inexpensive power supply, you might be forgiven for thinking that the PFC ratings might be solid, but uninspired. Like our efficiency testing, however, the results are surprisingly high.
Peaking at over 0.95 at both 20% and 100% is very impressive indeed and speaks of a solid design.
Voltage Regulation
During out voltage regulation testing, we were pleased to say that all results were highly consistent and providing very minimal discrepancies regardless of the load percentage placed on the power supply.
This is exactly what you want to see. Particularly when the occasionally wacky -12V rail behaves so well! – In terms of power delivery, however, regardless of what you’re asking of the Thermaltake Smart RGB 600W, it clearly is happy to do the work!
