Over Power Protection and Max Wattage

When it comes to power supplies, while they may have a rated amount there is nearly always a little extra ‘under the hood’. This is there to ensure that if your system does occasionally require a little more, the power supply isn’t going to start panicking!

In terms of our testing, we can first confirm that the overpower protections did work. That ultimately means that if you’re ever asking far too much from it, it will automatically shut down to protect both itself and the system. Secondly, the power supply was able to achieve a pretty amazing 790.0 watts of power before these protections kicked in.

Considering that this is around 32% above the rated amount, that is very impressive! – Kudos to Thermaltake!
