Final Thoughts

Pricing

The Thermaltake Suppressor F51 is an affordable £84.99 from Box.co.uk and $119.99 from Newegg.com. This puts it in-line with similar spec silence chassis such as the Nanoxia Deep Silence series, Fractal Design’s Define series and the Antec P100, to name but a few.

Overview

I really like this chassis, sure it’s got a lot in common with its rivals, but when you’re designing a silence focused chassis, you’re already aiming for a tightly closed up, fairly understated design anyway. The main difference here is that the Thermaltake chassis brings even better water cooling support and is Thermaltake ECS approved, as well as stealth hard drive mounts behind the motherboard, better cable management and more at a price that remains competitive with its rivals.

Build quality is rock solid. The side panels alone are incredibly strong and I certainly wouldn’t like to stub my toe on this chassis any time soon, as I’m likely to end up with a broken foot. It is big, it’s heavy and it’s made even heavier with the addition of the sound dampening materials. The bonus is that the extra strength makes it well suited to water cooling, as you can have the confidence that it’ll have no issues holding all the extra weight that comes from such setups.

Component compatibility is very high, with any GPU on the market fitting with ease, plenty of room for storage drives, E-ATX motherboards, enthusiast grade (and size) power supplies, as well as lots of fans and radiators; You can’t really ask for much more from a chassis.

Pros

  • Dust filters on all in-takes
  • Sound proofing panels applied to unused fan-mounts
  • Thick side panels
  • Great compatibility
  • Stealth hard drive mounts for 2.5″ and 3.5″ drives.
  • Fan controller
  • Competitive price

Cons

  • None

Neutral

  • Design may be a little boring for some, but it has been design for practically more than anything

“There’s quite a few great choices on the market for those wanting a silent chassis, but the Suppressor F51 is another welcome addition for consumers. The build quality, price and features are more than enough to satisfy any system builder.”
