Thermaltake The Tower 600 Mid Tower Case Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The Thermaltake Tower 600 offers a compelling package for PC enthusiasts seeking a unique and highly customisable build experience. It’s priced competitively too, with variations ranging from £159.99 to £189.99 depending on colour or the inclusion of the £34.99 mounting kit. It sits comfortably within the premium mid-tower segment, but given that it’s such a unique take on the PC case, and that it’s absolutely packed with features, I think it’s very fairly priced. The optional LCD kit is on sale right now for just £79.99.

Conclusion

Feature-wise, the Tower 600 shines above a lot of the competition. Just on the sheer count of removable panels and components, it’s clear a lot of consideration went into its design. It’s unique, but it’s just endlessly practical too. There are three removable windows, removable sides, top and bottom covers, a quick mounting plate for the top fans, a four removable panels on the back if you include the cable management panels, all the bottom ventilation panels are removable, and most of the interior all comes to bits too… it’s a lot of panels, and they’re all dust-filtered where appropriate too.

Vertical or horizontal?

Its versatile design allows for vertical or horizontal orientation, with an optional stand for a tilted showcase effect really making it stand out from the crowd. I love it on the stand, but it does take up a pretty significant amount of space, and it’s a quick way to make a double desk feel like a single desk. But in vertical mode, it has a pretty small footprint and would snug next to a slim desk easily enough, so you certainly have options here.

Hardware Support

Support for up to a 420mm radiator, extensive fan configurations with 120mm and 140mm support, BTF “hidden-connector” motherboards and traditional cable routing are well catered for. It supports ATX and some E-ATX motherboards, with seven expansion slots, and more than enough room for the bigger graphics cards on the market too. The inclusion of a PSU shroud, removable dust filters, and generous cable management space further enhances its appeal. Plus, with the optional LCD kit, you can add further customisation to the front of the case, albeit that’s not a cheap add-on at around £80.

Performance

Performance is going to be excellent, with the case’s strong focus on airflow from all angles. The ability to house a massive radiator, plenty of fans, and excellent cable routing allows for top-tier cooling, even for high-end components. Ease of use is another highlight, thanks to the numerous removable panels that provide unparalleled access for installation and maintenance. Keeping your hardware clean and maintained shouldn’t be an issue, as the tool-less design of all major access panels and well-placed cutouts make working within the Tower 600 a breeze.

Design

Aesthetically, the Tower 600 is a showstopper. Its octagonal prism shape, pillarless tempered glass front, and clean lines create a modern and sophisticated look. The option to choose from multiple colours and matching accessories like the Chassis Stand Kit allows for further personalisation. Unique features like the top-mounted I/O panel hidden beneath a ventilated cover and the ability to completely disassemble the case for modding add to its unique character.

Should I Buy One?

If you’re looking for a case that’s both capable of housing high-performance hardware, while also being a stunning display piece, the Thermaltake Tower 600 is an excellent choice. Its unique design, exceptional build quality, extensive features, and impressive cooling capabilities make it a standout option in the market. While its large size and unconventional layout may not be for everyone, those seeking a truly unique and customisable build experience will find the Tower 600 to be rather special. Plus, as part of the “The Tower” series, if it’s too big or small for you, there are other models in the range to suit your needs! Easily one of the best cases on the market today, I can’t recommend it enough.
