Thermaltake Toughfan 12 Review

How Does it Perform
The Thermaltake Toughfan 12 fans are officially rated to 58.35 CFM of airflow at ranges of 500 to 2000 RPM. In our entirely unofficial testing (since there really isn’t much of a practical way to get a solid methodology here), we were able to confirm that at full speed, the fans operated at around 1980-2000 RPM and provided a measured airflow of around 56-58 CFM.
We were able to confirm this both through the use of a regulated airflow measurer (held roughly 2-3 inches away from the fan surface) as well as using our oscilloscope (a laser targeter designed to specifically measure rotation).
As such, given that our results were so close to the listed specifications, we are more than willing to confirm that Thermaltake hasn’t used any hyperbole here. The Toughfan 12’s really are as good as it says on the box!
Thermaltake Toughfan 12’s In Action
While talking about them is one thing, if a picture tells a thousand words then surely a video has got to be worth a couple million. As such, to give you a better idea as to the aesthetics and performance level in a ‘real-world’ environment, we made a small recording below showing two of the Thermaltake Toughfan 12 fans in action.
Based upon what we see here, I think we can all agree that not only do they look excellent, but they also do a fantastic job in shifting that air!
