Thermaltake Toughpower Grand RGB 750w PSU Review

Efficiency
Being a gold-rated efficiency power supply, the Thermaltake Toughpower Grand RGB does have some rather high standards to meet. Put simply, it must achieve at least 88% efficiency at both the low and high end of power output.
While it does achieve this, the margins are somewhat slim. As you can see at 100% at 88.1% efficiency, this is skirting the edge. The important factor, however, is that it is, most definitely gold rated.
PFC (Power Factor Correction)
To say that the PFC rating for the Thermaltake Toughpower Grand RGB is good would be something of an understatement. Achieving over 0.95 across the entire test range is exceptionally impressive.
While this is not unusual for any Thermaltake power supply, these results are, by far and away, amongst some of the best we have ever seen.
Voltage Regulation
If we’re being entirely honest, the voltage regulation is a little bit more wayward than we usually see from a Thermaltake power supply. The results are, incidentally, all perfectly reasonable. That being said, however, the 12V performance across our simulated rails was a little below expectations at points.
There are, however, instances where, for reasons unclear, some tests just don’t give the results we anticipate. This is certainly one of them, but overall, there’s still nothing to be concerned about.
