Efficiency, PFC and Voltage Regulation
Voltage Regulation
As you can see across the various voltage load tests we conduct, the Thermaltake Toughpower Grand Series RGB Sync Edition is remarkably consistent. Hardly any variance is noted and where it is, the results are within a very tight consistency. Across all the power levels, this has no problem with the power it provides!
Power Efficiency
As the Thermaltake Toughpower Grand Series RGB Sync Edition is a gold-rated efficiency power supply, it does have some rather high targets to meet. In this regard, the power supply has no problems meeting that challenge. The results below are more than consistent with gold-rating and this power supply even at times borderlines towards the Titanium rating.
Power Factor Correction
While the PFC ratings start low in the Thermaltake Toughpower Grand Series RGB Sync Edition, the more you ask of it, the better it gets. Scoring a 0.99 at 100% load, this is one of the highest values we have ever recorded in this test. It is a testament to the excellent design that Thermaltake put into their products. If you’re not entirely certain what this means (despite our description) put simply I can’t recall any other power supply we reviewed scoring this high at 100% load.
If you consider that a score of 1 would be pure perfection, this should tell you a little something about how the Thermaltake Toughpower Grand Series RGB Sync Edition delivers its power. We are really impressed here!
