Although (only?) providing 650 watts of power, it shouldn’t be ignored that this is a platinum-rated efficiency power supply. As such, while circa £155 might seem expensive, this is (generally speaking) the price you pay for this level of performance. Nice things do, after all, tend to cost money!
Don’t forget though, with the Thermaltake Toughpower PF1 also coming with a huge 10-year warranty, you can consider this to not only be an excellent power supply, but also a more than a solid long-term investment.
There really isn’t much to say in terms of the performance of the Thermaltake Toughpower PF1 except the fact that this absolutely ate up all of our tests without even the slightest indication of issue or drama. With all the results in hand, it’s honestly very difficult to find any fault here at all.
As we noted earlier in the review, this PSU has clearly been designed to an exceptionally high standard and it’s a factor that has definitely been reflected throughout all of the performance aspects we tested.
Unlike other Thermaltake power supplies that can offer RGB lighting effects, the Toughpower PF1 is an all-business affair. While it still has a sleek design, if you want a top-spec power supply, designed to the highest quality, and one that has clearly been built to last. This is it.
While various power ranges are available (from 650w up to 850w) for the vast majority of gaming consumers, this 650 watt should be absolutely perfect!
We will freely admit that power supplies are never the most ‘sexy’ aspect of a gaming or professional PC build. It is, however, hard to understate just how important a quality design can be. With that particular aspect in mind, the Thermaltake Toughpower PF1 ticks literally all the boxes a savvy power supply consumer could (and/or should) have. It’s an excellent design, well made, built to last, and comes with masses of excellent features to make it (almost certainly) survive several PC builds.
Yes, it’s expensive, but in terms of power supplies, the Thermaltake Toughpower PF1 is (nearly) as good as they can possibly get!
