How Much Does it Cost?

Update: Prices are now available with UK prices at £35 to £40. In the US it’s just $39.99.

This sits the Thermaltake UX200 right in the middle of what you may call the ‘entry-level’ air cooler market. A market that is highly competitive with a lot of products vying for your money. So the key factor of pricing is how does this compare?

Well, in terms of temperatures, it’s largely about the same. Put bluntly, it’s not particularly ‘stand-out’ in terms of an amazing cooling performance. When you consider, however, the ARGB features that the Thermaltake UX200 has, in conjunction with its excellent design, this tips it ahead of the vast majority of the pack.

Overview

We feel that the Thermaltake UX200 has been specifically designed for people who are looking for either an upgrade to their stock cooler or something more visually impressive than a standard cooler. One that likely has either very limited or no RGB features at all. The motherboard sync capability of the UX200 really is a stand-out feature of this design!

In terms of the build quality and style, the Thermaltake UX200 is excellent. Admittedly, we would’ve liked to have perhaps seen it perform a little stronger at temperatures. In addition, a manual controller for the RGB lights. For stock temperature performance, however, there’s very little to grumble about here. Particularly since it does the job so quietly!

Should I Buy One?

The Thermaltake UX200 finds itself slap bang in the middle of the (already very crowded) entry-level air cooler market. Fortunately, it’s excellent ARGB features really makes this stand out from the pack and stake a legitimate claim for itself. At the time of writing, we honestly can’t think of any other coolers even remotely close to this price point that offers ARGB features with motherboard sync compatibility. That is a huge plus for the Thermaltake UX200!

So, when you consider all of this, it’s hard to ignore the UX200 as an excellently designed, excellently priced, and (perhaps most notably) an excellent good looking air cooling solution!

Pros

  • An excellent design that speaks of a quality cooler
  • Strong RGB lighting effects that are sync compatible to motherboards
  • Excellent acoustic performance
  • Performs at least on par with most of its competition while looking much better!
  • Excellent price for the features on offer

Cons

  • None

Neutral

  • ‘Easy Installation’ depends entirely on how crowded your motherboard VRM is surrounding the processor
  • Very little practical overclocking potential
  • The lack of a manual RGB controller means that an RGB sync capable motherboard is practically a requirement to get the best from this.
