Thermaltake Versa J24 TG ARGB Mid-Tower Case Review

How Much Does it Cost?
It’s not cheap, clocking in at £89.90 on Amazon UK. That’s about £30 more than the stock J24, but since a set of three ARGB fans would likely cost more than £30, that’s a pretty great deal. I couldn’t see it on Amazon.com, but I’d expect it to be about $100.
Overview
We love a good Thermaltake chassis here at eTeknix, and the latest Versa J24 certainly fits the bill. It’s not that often we see more compact designs from them either. They do favour the large chassis more often than not. However, despite its small size, this chassis is still very capable when it comes to high-end hardware and would be well suited to a wide range of PC gaming builds.
Build Quality
It’s a simple chassis, which means there’s very little to go wrong. The frame is durable, and everything is robust on the interior too. With the pre-fitted PSU shroud, it helps brace the chassis giving it added strength too. Of course, it’s also practical, as it both hides the 3.5″ drive mounts while providing mounts for two more 2.5″ drives.
There are no cable grommets or anything like that. However, the routing holes are well placed to keep things looking smart. A vertical pass-through for the GPU cables would be great, but it’s hardly a deal breaker either.
Aesthetics
You are paying a lot more over a base model here, but that’s kinda the whole point. If you want tempered glass, and you want addressable RGB, and let’s be honest, you do. Well, you’re going to have to pay a premium for it. It does pay off though, the chassis looks fantastic and the customisation on the colour as well as the ability to sync things like your motherboard, GPU, and even your peripherals will help you achieve a more complete looking setup.
