Thermaltake View 71 TG Snow Edition Case Review

Exterior

The first thing you notice about the View 71 TG Snow Edition is that it’s enormous. I mean, there are bigger cases, of course, but this one is still pretty hefty. It’s no surprise that it also clocks in at around 19KG too, so it’s not exactly lightweight. That behind said, with all that glass, heavy was inevitable. The glass gives us a superb view of the interior, which is going to really pay off when it comes to showing off your new build.

It may all be glass here, but there are enormous gaps to allow for good airflow throughout. Just keep in mind, it may not fare well in a dusty room, but that’s a given.

Plus, with lift-off hinges for the doors/windows, you can easily get in and clean, so it’s not all bad news.

Exposed System

The right side panel is glass too, which looks amazing. However, it’s a double-edged sword. You’ll need to make sure your cable routing game is on point. Stuffing cables hind the motherboard is quite simply going to look crap. However, braided cables, a few cable ties here and there, and you’ll be well on your way to showing off your skills. However, this is something that likely wouldn’t be ideal for first-time system builders.

Stunning Views

Up in the front, you can see the glass here is also removable. I like that Thermaltake has cut two of the corners off on too, it just stops the whole thing feeling like a big fish tank. A little extra style goes a long way it seems. Behind that, you can see the massive fan and radiator mounts. You’ll get 360/420mm radiators in the top, front and side mounts. Or you can stick with 120/140mm fans in all the mounts if you just want massive air cooling instead of liquid cooling. Plus with Riiing fans, you can enjoy a heck of an RGB light show with all that glass.

Around the Back

The white chassis design continues around the back too. Usually, we often see the back of the chassis is black with white panels elsewhere, but Thermaltake has gone all around here. There are eight expansion slots, plus two more mounted vertically for those using a riser cable. There’s a pre-installed 140mm fan, although it’ll support a 120mm if you desire also. There are even a few water/cable passthrough grommets that are ideal for a fill/drain tap.

Upon the top, another custom cut glass panel. Just like the front, it has filters and those huge mounts on the underside. Just pop the four thumbscrews to get access and you’re good to go.
