Thermaltake Water 2.0 Extreme Liquid CPU Cooler Review

At the default frequency on our i5 3570K we see the Corsair H100i beats the Thermaltake Water 2.0 Extreme by 3 degrees. Definitely not what I was expecting given the thicker radiator. This testing was conducted using the Water 2.0 Extreme’s “silent” fan profile which gave equivalent noise output to the fan profile used with the H100i testing.
By introducing overclocking into the equation the gap has been shrunk slightly but the Thermaltake Water 2.0 Extreme still falls behind the Corsair H100i. For a unit that is more expensive and with a thicker radiator you would of expect the Thermaltake Water 2.0 Extreme to perform better so this is disappointing. The results are still excellent absolutely speaking, but relative to its price and the competition the results are slightly below par.
